About Quirky Reading Retreat:

Quirky Reading Retreat was started in July of 2012 so I could share my love of reading with the world. This blog has been neglected for far too long and I am working very hard to get a schedule going so it can be back in order. I review mostly YA with the occasional Sci-Fi or fantasy. The weekly schedule can be found below and the upcoming posts schedule can be found under the “Schedule of Upcoming Posts” tab at the top of the page.

About Me:
Hi, I’m Sydney! I am an eighteen year old in my second year of college studying English and Film. I live in a tiny town (population 600!) in North Carolina. I have loved reading since I learned how and I haven’t looked back since. I’m an only child so I had to learn how to entertain myself so that is probably where my love of reading came from.

I enjoy most genres but some more than others (my favorites are on my “Review Policy” page).

Some (fun?) facts about me:

• When I am at school, I usually watch a film every night.
• My friends and I have movie night every Thursday night at school.
• I rarely like comedies. I have a highly unusual sense of humor and I find comedies cheesy and unfunny and they almost always annoy me.
• I have traveled to nine countries outside of the US, all in Europe, but I have only been to nine states.
• I watch very little TV, and most of the shows I watch are on Netflix.
• I don’t listen to music very much, but my favorite band is The Strokes.

Wednesdays - Top 5 Wednesday (Goodreads group here. Every Wednesday there is a theme and we each participant makes a list based on the theme.)

Fridays - Did-Not-Finish Friday (Basically, this is where I talk about a book I did not finish. Is this a thing already, or did I create it?)

I might also post the occasional book haul and hopefully a wrap up at the end of each month.
